Prada Spring Summer 2011
A beautiful show. The clothes might feel like a mix of hospital and Cuban cigar shop chic, but the set and the music are magical. I feel like I'm sitting at a cafe in Barcelona, watching Matisse's bathers walk up and down the boulevard in the heat of the late afternoon and into the night.
The shoes are pretty incredible too.

There were more, but finding photos of all the ones I love was very hard.

I don't need it, but I WANT IT! Supporting the Arts
I bought two prints from Catherine Campbell on etsy.

This is the type of style I could imagine for the cover of Paper Doll...if it ever gets published (I should probably finish it first).
Support the arts!
Now I just have to try really really hard not to buy this dress. I'll try really hard Boyan. Promise.

And I donated to KCRW and you should too! You can only listen to the pledge drive for so long before the guilt overwhelms you, but you know it's totally worth it. I listen to KCRW everyday and $10 bucks a month really isn't that much, considering I pay $60 a month for my gym membership and rarely ever go.

Stop, Just Stop with the Awesomeness
Thanks of course to Joan (always joan) I found a new blog to be obsessed with. I discovered the material for the post below (food fight and grinning dog) there and now they've led me to a beautiful artist who does work with water named Zena Holloway. Check her out for yourself, (make sure you watch this video) and while you're at it, check out the blog shape + colour.

Happy Post Number 200!!!
This is my 200th post! Very very exciting to think that this blog o mine has been along since March 2006. In celebration of all that time I'm offering up some eye candy! Fun and interesting pictures, things that have been making my mind tingle recently.

Image of the day

Lets see if I can spot all of them (this is like trying to spot all the historical figures on the Sgt. Peppers album cover) here we go left to right:
first row:
Divine, Pee Wee Herman, Creepy gray guy (no idea), Michael Myers?, Borat, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan a la Point Break, Scary ugly bunny (no idea again), David Lynch, Tim Curry a la Rocky Horror Picture show as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Random Skinhead (again I dont know)
second row:
Kevin Smith, Jeff Bridges as "The Dude" in The Big Lebowski, Looks like Dennis Hopper with a oxygen mask from I don't know what, Clockwork Orange Dude, Guy with guitar (no idea) and either Andy Milonakis or the kid from Goonies. I think it's the kid from Goonies. I don't know I've never seen it. And out in front I'm guessing that's Terry Schiavo.
Can you guys confirm/correct or finish this list? I'd be interested to hear who the rest are.

My Folk Lover by Catherine Campbell

I am so so so happy that I can finally give credit to an artist I've been admiring (read: stalking) on the internet. Her name is Catherine Campbell, I found her on deviantART and I just love her work. She does tons of prints as well as working with textiles, and I just think she's fabulous. You can visit her blog here, she also has a shop, and you can visit her main site here.
love, Love, LOVE.
